Many of you know I’ve recently been away to sweet Paris with friend and Papillonkia community member Marina. My mission for the trip to Paris was to pick up my Dior strap for my exclusive Dior Saddle bag made for Harrods only in Green. Plus, other shopping too of course. So I met my beautiful friend Marina from Miami there and we stayed at the W Hotel, which is part of the Marriot group. It is very central and opposite Galleries Lafayette so everywhere we went was 7-8 Euros in a taxi or we could just walk and enjoy the scenery.
Our first stop was Dior in Avenue Montaigne.
It is an absolutely stunning store with beautiful sculptures to look at as well as handbags of course.
Victoria, the manager, had my strap reserved for me so paid and off we went to Hermes.
There are three Hermes boutiques in Paris and initially we were so excited that we may be able to purchase a Birkin or Kelly. After constant visits and even making appointments on the Hermes site, we still didn’t manage to get anything. We were disappointed and very frustrated with the whole Hermes saga but that’s another story. Anyway, interestingly apparently the store in Rue de Sevres used to be the swimming pool and area for the hotel next door. Hermes has decorated this boutique so well – have a look at a few of the photos I managed to take below:
Next we head off to Van Cleef and Arpels in Vendome as they have exclusive pieces there in porcelain blue that were only made for this Paris store. Of course the blue one took Marina’s eye to go with her blue Birkin – just perfect. I have to say they matched her beautiful blue eyes to a tea. Nothing for me this time but the Sweet Alhambra range for my girls when they are older.
Next stop Chanel – Rue Cambon, Avenue Montaigne and Saint Honore. I personally love Saint Honore as it’s quieter and I feel, more friendly. Of course you get to meet so many people/customers in there as I did, the owner of the cookie stall/shop in Selfridges. – small World. Of course in Rue Cambon, Marina had her lovely photos on the stairway step where Gabrielle used to sit watching all the models walk by so that she could see customer’s reactions.
There are so many places to eat in Paris that we were spoiled for choice. Paris is a wonderful City just to walk around and pop into the cafes for a coffee or a meal.
If you have not been, go..! It’s a lovely place with your other half or a friend.
I had so much fun with Marina and feel so lucky to have these experiences and to share them with you. Thanks for reading.
